Pro Scan BC250D Connection issue

Trying to get Proscan to connect with my BC250-D ... using USB with connector to scanner. Connects for about 10-15 seconds and Proscan freezes while scanner continues to scan. Tried lowering baud rate to 9600 and no change in status. Is this possible a case where I need the null modem between cables? Not sure ?

I have no problems with my 785D using the factory 9 Pin Serial Cable with PROSCAN I do not remember a usb cable but I never bought the 250D either.

Use the highest baud rate the scanner supports. Don't use a null modem adapter. A null modem adapter is needed only on ports that doubles as a GPS port.

Thanks for reply .... update: Tried on Pro 96 com ... same symptoms...returned " new" cable and replacement works fine! ..... " New" faulty USB to serial cable !
