BCD996P2 upload problem

When I have loaded the program and setup the p25 system I want to scan I attempt to upload it to my scanner and I get the message (serial port not available or in use by other software) how do I fix this problem? thanks

Exit the other program that's using the comm port.

I have not changed any port designations since I bought the Dell last January. Not sure why I would need to. All other programs recognize and us the usb's. I am using Butel XT for the programing.

Save your programming, turn the computer off, unplug the usb cable, restart the computer and plug the usb cable back in that should get you running again. Sometimes the com ports can get a little screwy on computer when working with radio software.

Thanks I finally stumbled on the problem. Under scanner I found communications and was able to assign the port.
