Hello. I'm looking for ideas on what antenna I should get for a mobile scanner. I'll mostly be monitoring an 800Mhz trunked system but I'd like to get good reception on other bands. I'd like to have a through glass kind of system, but I'm not sure of how well it would work. I've already got a mag mount CB whip on the roof and would rather not stick another big whip up there with it.

Any advice on what would work well for my uses? And I prefer to get stuff from RadioShack so I can save money. Any good models from there?

96 Ford Bronco. And with any more mag mounts I'm going to run out of roof space! The removable top cover is vynl and the cab is the only metal surface.

do a trunk/lip mount to the hood. Comtelco (I like them) have a wide range of 800MHz antennas that you can take a look at:

Their trunk/lip mounts are here:

but you might find a better suited lip mount for the hood from another place.
