fm is a transmitting method--frequency modulation

So it doesn't make a lot of difference on the antenna---i think you meant to ask about a antenna for a different freq that 2.3 gig??

If so, i think the cantenna you are talking about is only very good on short wave lengths like 23 cm and higher----now in the old days, the ORIGINAL Cantenna was a dummy load made by Heathkit--in modern times it is a WI-FI antenna made out of a pringles can or something similar.......

I one time used a 3 pound coffee can and 2 meter rubber duck for Foxhunting or as it's formally known, Radio Direction Finding.. Worked ok, Drill a hole in the side about half way between the open end and the bottom for the BNC. I mounted mine on a stick using screws through the bottom of the can. Never used it for transmitting, didn't want to chance it.

Experiment.. That's half the fun!
