solid state electronics antennas

I have a question, does anybody have any experience with one of the antennas that this company makes.
Scanner master has one from them that is called the EB602 VHF Helical Antenna. The VHF part is for transmit only, but you can also use it with a scanner as a receiver antenna, which is what I was looking at it for.
