I've had a lot of fun getting more involved in the hobby and have have found this board to be extremely helpful. I recently upgraded to a Pro 97 and would like to upgrade antennas. What I listen to is:
800 MHz trunked system - local, factory duck picks everything up just fine
450 MHz public safety from neighboring counties and some local business freq
150-160 MHz public safety from neighboring counties
VHF lo - the least important of what I listen to - some PS and business freq
I have looked at a lot of posts and have narrowed things down to the RH77CA, Watson W881, Centurion, EXB150BN, and RS 20-034.
Is there going to be any clear winner of these antennas for what I listen to? Since most of them are not that great on 800 MHz, will I be going backward vs the factory duck for 800, or will it not matter since it is local? Also, does anyone find the length of the RH77 and W881 to be a hindrance and prefers something shorter like the 20-034? Finally does anyone have a good source for the W881 or EXB150?
