I use this for monitoring 39mhz. Used a cheap stainless steel mixing bowl and a radioshack 102" and 3/8 mount. Elements were cut down to 5.9 '. The radials are alunimum rods attached to the bowl with electrical lugs. Had an old Radio Shack Mag mount that was used to hang it, mount was scavanged and turned upside down. The set screws hold the top of the whip and a 1/4 " eyebolt is used to connect the rope. I hung it over a tree limb about 60' up and a second rope is used to stabilize the antenna. Probably bugs the neighbors...

Nice work TrimmerJ
So how she work?
You know I made a 800mhz discone using a 3 1/4" stainless steel measuring cup for the disc and my wife is still looking for it.

Holy thread necromancy, Batman, 5.5 years since the last post before these three... gotta be a record. :p

trimmerj hasn't made a post in just over a year, I wonder how this thing actually performed.

I brought this thread up in a new one when I referenced making a similar antenna. As for the lugs, I was surprised at how expensive they are. They want around $3 each for them. My recent thread was a question as to whether or not I should make one or go with a dipole.
