Hello all,

My father recently passed away leaving me with a ton of of radio related equipment. One item I am trying to figure out is the attached surge protector. Label says "Reliance Comm/Tec" and has CP-1412S on the label. Google has not been any help. I am wanting to know if this protector could be used with my outdoor antenna/scanner setup. I have looked at other protectors and they are all marked with frequency ranges. Connectors on both ends are N female. Also does it matter which end the antenna is connected to? Sorry if this is a basic question but I am new to all this. Thanks for your time.

Looks like a coax ground.

Goes in-line in your coax run to ground the coax shield to an earth ground.

The "N" connectors lead me to believe this was for a satellite receiver application.

Not much you can do with it on a scanner.

Likely a lightning protector and since it has N connectors, it will likely be ok all the way into UHF
frquencies so give it a try.
