I am thinking about buying the Deluxe Discone from this company, Has anyone had any luck with them ?

I have had one,Will work good in a suburban enviorment,Good deal for the money but i live in the boonies and the scantenna wins hands down in the price range..

Is the Scantenna going to pick up better than a 20-176 from The Shack ? I cannot pick up anything in the 450 mhz area to the north of me with the 176...

I have 2 scantennas and i also have a centerfire yagi (murs tuned)
The murs antenna works better for long range stuff then the scantenna does,
But the scantenna is a better multi-band antenna, because the Murs antenna is not designed as a multi band antenna.
If your main concern is the 400MHz range, then i would suggest an antenna tuned for the freq.
All in all, the centerfire yagi i bought does just what it was designed to do.
Oh.and i am also located in a rural area.
