mobile scanner antenna

Hi everyone,
I have a Radioshack pro-164 that I keep in the car for mobile use.
I bought a 36" scanner antenna from radio shack, however this thing is less then great.
I was curious if anyone had ideas for a good antenna.
typically I listen around the 2 meter band as that is where most of our fire and police reside.
with the occasional trip down to 121.000 am for our air traffic.
