what kind of antennas are these?

They are point-to-point microwave antennas. These are often used for data communication, such as controllers, switches, or even as a backbone for a city's mobile computers (in police & fire vehicles for instance). It may be good to get a pic of what they connect to to get a better idea of what specifically they may be for.

They look alot like 2.5ghz. wireless cable antennas that used to be popular here,but maybe not.

If they are on power / telephone poles more than likely they are control links / monitors for one of the utilities on the pole. Also power companies now also have some sort of electronic "meter-reader monitor" now but those are typically a box with three of four cellular type antennas on them (two on top, two on the bottom of the box).

Just like n5ims said of you can get a photo of what they are connected too then it would help us out better for what they are beign used for.
