The Austin Sprectra Has outperformed all the other mobile antennas i have from no names to Diamond.

It works well in the Truck and it works GREAT sitting on a cookie tin on a shelf in the house. I can hear State police simulcast with good strong signal now, where as before they were very scratchy

I've used the Autin for quite some time now and I am on my second one. The first one lasted me a long time until it met the garage door one day. Always have had agood reception with them.

Glad someone has some luck with it. I dumped mine after only a week. It's deaf above VHF hi-band.

Austin Spectra

I've had mine for a few years now and it's fantastic!! It sits on the back of my Jeep with almost no ground plane, and still performs very well. Even at 800Mhz... AF5RN - you said you had problems above VHF high...Did you have good coax? With poor coax, the higher freqs are the ones that take a beating.
