outside antenna

anyone have any advice on outside antennas? I have a BC996T, so far Im using a discone antenna(not sold on it) whats better? the cheaper the better.

Scantenna is a good performer: ST-2 Scanner Antenna Package. If you get this antenna do this mod to it: http://wiki.radioreference.com/images/8/8c/Reinforcescantenna.jpg This will help give it more strength.
