How much will I lose?

I am putting in a new cable run, replacing my 75 ohm RG6/U with Belden 7810. My antenna is a Radio Shack Discone. I have about a 50-foot run. With the new setup, I will have a lightning surge arrester and a 2-foot 195 coax pigtail to the scanner. So as a result, I will have six connectors in line, along with the lightning surge arrester.

The current setup has 50-feet of RG6/U and two connectors.

My question is this: Will I lose more than I gain by just leaving the current cable in place? Will it be a wash?

Connectors are hard to guess at the loss.
If done right they are near zero, but cab be significantly more if bad.

Look up the loss per ft
Calculate the total loss.

If the difference is less that 3 db you probably will not notice a difference.
