cable for st-2 antenna to long?

I got my ST-2 antenna up yesterday and i got 12 ft to much cable. Will Cutting of 12 ft make a difference or should i just roll it up loosely. Its pretty straight till its in the house i only have to make a 90 degree bend in it to follow the molding to the scanner, since the cable that comes with it is not high quality i was wondering if it would make a difference.

If i do cut it what kind of bnc connector that crimps on, or solders on is a good choice? Its more about the wife looking at the cable than looking at me, which means Honey you are going to do something with that cable right!!!!!!!!!!!! hahaha. I am getting the 996xt delivered in a few hours, and the evil eye from the boss.

12 feet is not worth cutting.

I wish i had a extra 12 ft of coax .try and get the antenna 10ft higher .How is it mounted outside?
