Need Length of Larsen Tri-Band... Please

I bought the Larsen Tri-Band back in the spring. Because the antenna mounts to the top of a garaged SUV, I also ordered the shock spring with it. When I received the antenna, it did not include a cutting chart if the spring was used. After good advice here, I cut somewhere between 1/4 and 1/2 the spring's length of the lower element. After not being satisfied that the Larsen could not out perform the Antenna Specialists UHF whip that it replaced, I remounted the Antenna Specialists and stopped using the Larsen. Before the bad winter weather gets here, I want to give the Larsen one more try. This time, I am going to make it the exact length it was prior to the addition of the spring (it really sang before I brought my SUV home to install the spring). Can someone please give me the length of the Larsen Tri-Band's lower element, or the length from the top of the antenna to where it enters the holder where the set screw is? Thanks in advance.

Thanks much. So far, I don't see a chart applicable to the Tri-Band scanner antenna, but I will keep searching.

EDIT: I think I'm good to go now. The CheapHam site gives the dimensions as [Whip 15.5", Max Height 16.5"], and the base turned out to be 1". When I measured my antenna length, it's whip length was just under 14.5". That would make sense because the spring is ~2.25", and I was partially cutting in the beginning while looking for that sweet spot. Now, I'll just cut the other half of the spring's length from the lower element, returning the antenna to it's 15.5" while including the spring in that measurement.

Since the spring is much fatter than the stock whip I would expect to cut off slightly more whip length than the spring length. A before and after check with an antenna alalyzer would be the best advice.

AFAIK, the Larsen scanner antenna isn't designed to be cut, therefore you likely won't find a cutting chart for it. I also don't believe they were designed to be used with a spring, so no telling what the addition of a spring will do to its performance. You may just have to experiment with it with and without the spring. I don't know that there's a hard and fast rule about how much to cut off if a spring is used, but obviously if you cut off too much you can't add it back!

What ever the length of the spring is, is what you cut off the bottom of the ant. so the over all length of the ant don,t change.
That is what Larsen support email me.
I have 4 and 3 have spring all work the same with spring or not.
Best ant I every used on a scanner.
