just setup my new Ominx Antenna , next to my Browning BR-6157

both mounted in attic - both -15' - rg8 & times lmr 240 coax feed into a Stridsberg multicoupler , mca 202m
radio's - hooked in , motorola cdm 1250 uhf & radioshack pro 197.
I am listening to a range about 30-40 miles , mostly uhf , couple high band, repeaters throughout this range.
Browning covers- 410-490 mhz pretuned - 4.5 db gain - $49.25 free ship
Ominx - multiband, - 4.5 db gain - $139.99 , + ship
Both antennas work very strong on Digital reception also.
well tried both antennas , this is a hard one to make a choice on BEST reception.
both work well on high band reception , strong reception , both antennas are made very well for outside use. both have [n] connectors. Well , if you have the $$$ , go for the Ominx ,[more band coverage ] , short on $$ , go for the Browning BR-6157, if you are looking @ monitoring uhf - 403-470 & some high band only. I am very pleased with both antennas.

Nice setup. What type of house do you have? I have been looking at that OminX for awhile. I have a old radio shack st4 right now outside at about 30ft. Also have a older one in my attic for a backup. I have a raised ranch house so it has alittle bit of height to it. I do alot of milair monitoring and the outdoor antenna has about 225-250 air mile range.

Ominx vs browning

2 story - on a hill , build i built 1991 , have 50 ft tilt rohn tower outside , 150' coax run , using 1/2 " heliux coax, needed for long run . Wanted to try attic mount , well works just as good or better for reception as my tower feed. After using both antennas for a week now , still hard to pick the best one ???? .have short feeds for both , coax , like i said , if you have the bucks , go for omnix , very solid made , in usa, if going outside , coat parts with sealer . Like i said also , listening to uhf mainly. Using a tram model 1486 on tower , 406-512 mhz , 6.5 db gain
sent pictures of tower and my receiver setup in my bedroom using attic antennas.
