My Uniden BCD436HP scanner does not pick up signals very well with its stock antenna. I have a magnetic mount Larsen dual band (VHF/UHF) antenna which works very well when connected to the scanner. However I can only use my Larsen antenna when I am in car or at home.

I need a portable antenna which I can attach with the scanner.

Please suggest.

BNC makes it a lot easier to swap antennas. And all the wear goes to the adapter instead of the scanner sma connector.

There are times when this portable antenna keeps up and exceeds performance when compared to my Larsen Wide-band on a NMO mount. It is indeed a little beast. Yes, I've owned that flimsy crap antenna from RS, the 800 mhz one. I am hard on radios. The RS models last less than six months with me. Then, a bend develops where it narrows. I wanted a well-designed antenna that was SOLID: https://www.scannermaster.com/800_MHz_2_5db_Portable_SMA_Antenna_p/14-541014.htm
