PA Statewide P25 Phase 2 System

Game Commission NC region is partially operating on the P25 system. Also, you can hear PEMA activity in the Harrisburg area.

    Motorola APX Vehicular Adapter

Anybody out there using the APX series vehicular adapter? It appears as though it is not capable of controlling the radio power on/off state via the vehicle ignition switch (i.e. the radio powers off when the vehicle is turned off). I never used one, but I was told this was a capability with...

    Police and Fire Frequencies needed

Philly is hard to pick up to the NW. I am less than 10 miles NW of Roxborough and can even have issues using my G5 depending on where it is sitting in the house. Funny thing is I can pick up NJICS nearly full bars on the same unit in the same locations.

PA Statewide P25 Phase 2 System

It was possibly dumber than that. The way I have my favorites lists set up, I am usually just turning them on and off via the menu to activate what I want to monitor. So, when I decided to try using the quick keys option to add flexibility to my STARNET favorite list, I was overlooking the fact...

PA Statewide P25 Phase 2 System

hmm...I think I might have finally figured out how to do what I wanted to do. The feedback here and a Youtube video got me headed in the right direction. Thanks all. I might actually be getting the hang of these quick keys.

PA Statewide P25 Phase 2 System

Up until recently, I have just been going in and turning on and off specific sites as I move through areas. This feature is buried in the submenus, though, and not at all convenient to do when mobile...I usually have to wait until I am stopped at a light or pull over for a minute when...

PA Statewide P25 Phase 2 System

Is anyone using quick keys on a Uniden to manage the state system? For as long as I have owned this 436, I have never grasped the quick key concept. I don't know what I am doing wrong. I have the state P25 system in its own favorite list (assigned key 1). In that list, STARNET is assigned key...

    Warren County P25

Consolidation of PSP dispatch centers was a move during the Rendell administration. After his term ended and PSP brass changed with the next administration, the project was scrapped. Some of the CDCs had been in service, but that was all reversed and reverted back to individual station dispatch...

    Warren County P25

Probably the same reason Potter is dispatched by Tioga and Sullivan is dispatched by Lycoming...there ain't nobody there. Pennsylvania would be just fine with some more regionalization of various local services. This Commonwealth system has become an excuse to spend money poorly.

PA Statewide P25 Phase 2 System

I suppose, if you are going from 800 to mostly VHF and don’t know much about radios, that could certainly be misconstrued as “going back to lowband”.

PA Statewide P25 Phase 2 System

It's all moving quickly (or at least beyond the typical speed of government). Stop listening for a day or two and bam, you miss a change. ;-)

There is this map and the associated downloadable data: https://data-pennshare.opendata.arcgis.com/datasets/penndot-facilities?geometry=-80.368%2C39.910%2C-79.379%2C40.644 I just have not had time to massage the spreadsheet and put it into the wiki.

PA Statewide P25 Phase 2 System

I dont suppose anyone in the SE area was doing logging or monitoring on the new system last night? Trooper 2 was working with PSP Avondale on SE Air in the 21:00-23:00 timeframe. Big search going on. Unfortunately, most of the comms I logged on the old 700 system were garbled...wasn't around...

PA Turnpike P25 Phase II System?

From Norristown, if you are just using a handheld, you are going to have a difficult time receiving many sites depending on your location. The two Devault sites, the Graterford site, and the two Willow Grove sites can be received in certain locations around there, but usually with a weak...

PA Statewide P25 Phase 2 System

I think we ought to sit and wait on TG 1. It is out of sequence compared to all other PennDOT talkgroups. Even if it is PennDOT, it could be loaner radios or something. I would recommend folks keep notes on what they hear on it or use the wiki and forums to keep tabs on it. Still just PGC and...

PA 700 MHz Air to Ground System

The Philly site was never on the air with a Harris MASTR V base, so I guess it seemed like a good place to start. It just showed up one day recently broadcasting the new site ID: System ID WACN 942 BEE00 Damn hard to receive, though, at least from the areas I've tried. No idea when...
