    Quogue / WH Beach PD

Yes 845 was the old 2nd precinct frequency. Those vhf repeaters are long gone. The frequencies are also no longer used. West Hampton, quogue, shelter island, southold, saltaire and Southampton town are all on VHF still and it works well for them.

    MTA Police

I've been monitoring this system and it appears to have quite reliable coverage. Also heard radio techs testing communication with Troop L. It looks like NYSP will be on this system soon. So far it appears primary comms are in the clear.

I hate to make things political but....

It seems that just about the only good thing about NY politics is the fact that a majority of our communications are in the clear. If you look at red states, a huge majority is secure. The local politicians seem to vote regarding whether or not to fund new radio systems and it appears that most...

    Suffolk County 800MHz

Anyone know exactly what plans are in the works? The 800MHz P25 "phase II" simulcast is up and running and appears to have county wide coverage but currently transmitting in phase I. its an easy system to navigate considering its a mirror of the current SmartZone system. Same ID's just in p25...

    Suffolk Fire

Hasn’t happened in 100 years and It’ll never happen. EVERYTHING is political. Every department official needs to be voted in by popularity. Some departments are operating WITHOUT leadership because they’re that dysfunctional. Speaking of ripoffs, companies are getting wise to the almighty deep...

    Suffolk Fire

It sounds good on paper but the government can’t do anything right. Especially when there’s hundreds of people involved in the process. There’s 109 fire departments across Suffolk county. Coverage is an issue, some departments will not be able to reliably reach the system. Every department needs...

    Suffolk Fire

MONEY. The county probably bit off a much larger bite than it could chew. And Motorola is a fat hungry pig only trying to get fatter. They ended lowband products which forced fire departments to seek an alternative. Unfortunately there is nothing that could provide the reliability and coverage...

    Babylon Central Fire Alarm

Thank you! While we’re on the subject of Amityville Village, are they still using lowband as well or have they moved to UHF?

    Babylon Central Fire Alarm

What frequencies does BCFA use? The database shows numerous xband repeaters but that could mean anything including small low power UHF vehicle repeaters. I'm assuming there are UHF paging frequencies as well as operation frequencies. I'm pretty far away, so I'm unable to hear anything from them.

Connetquot Central School District MotoTRBO WQMA924

Cool. So you’re saying they’re on a conventional DMR system? I was under the impression that it was a connect+ or capacity+ system

How do you know you’re hearing CSD? They’re DMR trunked. I’m using an SDS100

Connetquot Central School District MotoTRBO WQMA924

WQMA924 Connetquot CSD in Bohemia, Suffolk County. They switched to a MotoTRBO system in 2010. I always assumed it was in the database but apparently I was incorrect. Recently just came across one of the frequencies as I'm trying to figure out how to receive DMR on the scanner. It is not in the...

    SDS100 and DMR

I upgraded to DMR and loaded the DMR code. I thought it was accepted but for some reason I do NOT pick up any DMR audio. When I come across a DMR freq, the scanner will display the CC and what type of DMR it is. No audio though. Am I doing something wrong?

    SDS1000 Atrocious Audio Quality

Awesome. I have some leftover HT1000 speakers I might be able to salvage as well. I did test the SDS with a Motorola mobile external speaker and the audio is superb. It’s definitely an internal speaker issue

    Suffolk FD's getting their own 800MHz freq's ??

East Hampton uses 800 conventional as fireground operations due to the fact that all of their dispatching is done on 800MHz. Makes sense to utilize the same frequency range so not to change radios. Everything (public safety wise) in the town of EH is 800.
