I get your drift!
There is good documentation that Boeing used defective structural components made by AHF Ducommun on at least 32 (but likely many more) NG's which had been hand fabricated VERY poorly when they should have been CNC milled. Ducommun and Boeings QC failed to find the defective...
You're definitely correct about sub-par training for some pilots, however, Boeing now has a well-established history of cutting corners during the development and manufacturing phases. This is on full display with the 737 Max grounding and the Air Force KC-46 tankers which had tools and trash...
That's good to know. I've never set up analog paging on the G4 since it's 700/800. The only reason I suggested an /\/\ pager was to save the OP some money since most of the price of the G series is for the P25 features.
You would probably be best off using a Unication G4 or G5 for simplicity and cost sake, though having used a G4 for the last 3 years I have some strong opinions about the G series pagers and Unication overall.
If you do decide to go with a Unication pager don't be fooled by their marketing...
It's easy so long as your budget allows. . . MSI charges and arm and a leg for CPS, though it's relatively cheap compared to the cost of the radios.
This will depend entirely on what your goal is. Are you trying to monitor a P25 trunking system? Do you need the ability to transmit?
In MOL go to the Resource Center then Software >Two-Way > MOTOTRBO > Conventional - Firmware and there will be an option for MOTOTRBO Digital Firmware for SL, CP, and CM radios. You'll need to install the portable light package.
Without totally derailing this thread, do you know what the fee is for adding channels to an existing itinerant license? I want to add a few more channels but I don't want to file a whole new application.
