    Uniden Repair Delay

There is a good chance that you will get a radio with absolutely no issues. BUT, to "hedge" your bet, I would order from Amazon first, using a credit card. If there is an issue, do not ask for a replacement, simply ask for a refund. Then you can try Walmart. If you have issues with two out...

SDS200 - Noise on analog frequencies

I have not noticed any unusual "noise" on analog transmissions on my particular unit. I always use my local NWS frequency as my first "go-to" for comparative purposes, and then my local PD and FD frequencies, which my ear is well accustomed to on the many radios I monitor. Stuff like base and...

    Uniden Repair Delay

Wow. No, you cannot borrow a scanner. Just kidding. Since we are in The Tavern, I think I can mention that I have met several people in my life that seem to carry with them a force that interferes with electronics. This might make an interesting read for you...

    SDS200 Barecat instead of Bearcat

I tried to edit that last message to give you a little more insight, but I exceeded my 30 minute time limit. So let me finish that tale. Here's a good story for the Uniden "Tavern" I guess your new radio is in a playful mood. I remember when the "company" I worked for went from manual to...

    SDS200 Barecat instead of Bearcat

Instead of you playing with the radio, maybe the radio is giving you a hint it wants to play with you !!!

    Uniden Repair Delay

Not at all. You focused some light on a subject that requires attention. I've seen a lot more in the 15+ years I have been here. Everybody here hopes you get your "baby" back soon. It looks like you got a few "backup" radios to tide you over. Keep us posted on your progress.

    Uniden Repair Delay

So let's get back to the topic of the "Uniden Repair Delay". Do you, fxdscon, or anyone else following this thread, have any positive suggestions to help Uniden get back on track? JoeBearcat asked for my input---- I gave him my suggestions. Let's hear what you have.

    Uniden Repair Delay

I can handle the ridicule and contemptuous and dismissive behavior. It's like water off a duck's back. Keep in mind, however, that you are not laughing at my expense; you are laughing at the expense of all those folks sitting at home for two or three months waiting for their stuff to be fixed...

I too feel your frustrations werinshades. But, it appears they are tackling this first from the manufacturing end. I don't know how much outsourcing they do for parts or boards or screens coming from various places in Asia, but it has to be a nightmare getting everything coordinated. Now all...

    SDS200 Cloned SDS200's behave differently

I would tend to agree. To quote one of the world's most famous fictional characters: "Once you eliminate the impossible, whatever remains, no matter how improbable, must be the truth.” - Sherlock Holmes

    AR-DV10 Firmware update v2101A

I can't take my DV1 out of the "loop" right now to test, but has anyone spotted this on the DV1 version of the firmware yet?

    Uniden Repair Delay

Well that's all easy enough to say, but I have a lot of empathy for folks who have spent 600 - 700 of hard earned and long-saved money for receivers that have suddenly gone bad and find that they have no recourse but to wait for two or three months (or more) to get their equipment back, because...

    Uniden Repair Delay

So Uniden Japan and Uniden America are two completely different entities with no reliance or affiliation with each other? I am surprised if that's true. I think there is a little confusion here. It seems that Japan is the parent company who calls the shots with subsidieries around the world...

    Uniden Repair Delay

You asked, so I shall answer to the best of my ability. Now on one item I will agree, economics discussion is out for now. And I agree with your second point. The world is in a mess right now. In this current iteration, it has been since the time that Covid first emerged in Asia in December...

    Uniden Repair Delay

Absolutely. I would be more than happy to offer my expertise and advice, based on my vast experience in both marketing, electronics, public relations, and the like. As long as they understand, I don't come cheap. I'm willing to entertain any reasonable offer they make to help get them back on...

    Uniden Repair Delay

I stand corrected, Million, not Billion. According to the Uniden Wikipedia page, they had nearly (and certainly closer then I) to 3/4 billion revenue in 2007. "In 2007, Uniden had a revenue of 77.7 billion yen. Just three years later in 2010, Uniden reported a revenue of just 35.5 billion...

I appreciate that you have more clearly defined your parameters, and at least Uniden can never say they weren't told. I see that other thread(s) have started to pop up mentioning the inordinate wait times that some are facing getting their units back from repair. Storms, blackouts, and other...

    Uniden Repair Delay

Well there goes my planned SDS100 purchase. I know. Covid, storms of the century, factors beyond control, etc. But Uniden is a multi-billion dollar world-wide corporation. They can certainly afford to open up a second repair facility in a different part of the United States. Yes, it...

    Help me help you

I have to respectfully disagree with that Chris. I personally would never ask for any existing frequency coverage to be removed from any radio under any circumstance. I know a lot of folks that love to search, scan and close-call on non-allocated frequencies listening for "pirate" activity. If...

    Help me help you

With all due respect, I find that comment to be more than a bit strange coming from an official Uniden Rep. Especially in a "Help Me Help You" thread. Repair turnaround times are certainly a concern for anyone buying a $700 USD radio. Storms and other "acts of God" notwithstanding.
