    Looking for new Scanner

Being in the Northeast Valley the SDS scanners are a good choice for the digital systems. You will be able to hear the Maricopa County P25 system that MCSO uses. You will also hear the Mesa Topaz, Phoenix RWC, and the AZWINS systems very reliably with a good 800mhz antenna such as the Remtronix...

    Yaesu: FT-65R Software

I purchased the RT Systems software and cable, package deal for $55. They just sent the serial # for the download, now I can start playing with the software before the radio arrives. Next need to study for the test. Thanks to all who responded!

SDS100: Locating frequencies for a LTR system?

One of the frequencies is showing a color code of 14 but only briefly and no voice heard.

    Yaesu: FT-65R Software

I read alot of positive reviews of the FT-65r and wanted a good reliable handheld when I get my license, and for the price was good.

    Yaesu: FT-65R Software

Just purchased a new FT-65r and looking for software, I know that the radio doesn't come with the needed programing cable and I'll have to buy that separately. Are there other options other than the ADMS software? Thanks.

SDS100: SDS 100 Mixed mode reception

Monitor the digital channel with your SDS100, pickup a cheap analog scanner for the other channel I have seen BC75xlt's on OfferUp for $30. Of course what analog scanner you get will need to depend on the frequency of the sheriffs office.

SDS100: Locating frequencies for a LTR system?

What I have found is that one of frequencies in question does show up as a CAP* and shows a color code, however no voice. Doing a FCC search it comes back as part of the Fisher Wireless system which is a rather large system that covers more than one state. The frequency however is not listed as...

SDS100: Locating frequencies for a LTR system?

There are a few UHF radio frequencies that I believe are part of a LTR radio system, although the DB lists them as conventional. Is there a way to use the SDS100 to locate the remaining frequencies if in fact the frequencies in question are part of a trunked system? This may be a wild goose...

    Banner Air ?

I have a few of the frequencies listed for Native from the database programmed into the 125AT and picking up regular noise that sounds like a trunked system 464.250 & 463.7875. When you click on the info for 464.250 it shows the licensee is R&M Repeater LLC. The R&M Repeater website shows that...

    Which Scanner for Fiance

Looking over the MSWIN system it appears that there are few counties using simulcast sites, even if they aren't in your immediate vicinity you could encounter them as you travel. The SDS100 would be a good choice being as it is portable and does handle simulcast better than most other handhelds...

    AzWins TG-2000

Interesting, in the recordings I could hear Yuma PD dispatch and border patrol units. Possibly an interagency channel?

    AzWins TG-2000

I can't confirm that it was actually a unit in the field, it just sounded that way but I could be mistaken. Will have to wait and see if they pop up again on a nearby site and get more info.

    AzWins TG-2000

It was a brief transmission and all I heard was the what sounded like a unit in the field, no response heard from dispatch. It may be a partially encrypted talkgroup as a few in Lapaz County are.

    AzWins TG-2000

Heard that too, was just searching to see if I could find who it was. What I heard sounded like an ATL for a vehicle, not a dispatcher but possibly a officer in the field. Didn't hear a dispatcher response thou.

Looking for desktop scanner recommendations (to replace a Uniden BCD436hp)

I'll second that, while I don't own a 436 or 536 I wasn't impressed with the screen color. Having had many scanners over the years I am much more of a fan of the older amber screen with the black text vs. the white screen. I do like the SDS models' ability to customize screen and text colors to...

    SDS200 Global Filter Modes

I think the most frustrating issue I find with the filters is if you go through the painstaking process of monitoring each site and selecting the proper filter for each system while the scanner is sitting on your desk at home. Taking the scanner out of that area and using while traveling or just...

Looking for desktop scanner recommendations (to replace a Uniden BCD436hp)

As others on here have stated, most of the public safety is using the TXWARN system, so how is your 436HP handling monitoring that system? If it is doing well with no complaints then the 536HP is the base model of the 436HP (basically the same scanner wrapped up in a base scanner). If you are...

Town of Payson (AZ) police has disappeared from their VHF radio channels

Much like the Pinal County system, Casa Grade FD isn't encrypted but have only been able to hear them when near Casa Grande.

Town of Payson (AZ) police has disappeared from their VHF radio channels

I have the R & M system loaded into the scanner and watching to see if anything comes up. TG 191 and 278 seem to be active but no audio, encrypted also I am assuming. :-(

Town of Payson (AZ) police has disappeared from their VHF radio channels

The TG believed to be Payson PD is occasionally affiliating with the Mesa site, of course can't hear any audio being encrypted. No other activity at the moment, but will be scanning the system to see if anything else pops up. Interested to see if any other agencies are currently using the system...
