I love my BCD325P2. It does struggle with simulcast in certain areas but I don't blame the unit for technology advances that didn't exist when it was produced.
It's my travel unit that I take with me in the car if I'm going to be driving around. At home I plug it in so it can run...
Me too. I feel no rush to jump in.
As with computers, phones, etc I am wary of updates that could cause issues. It's happened before with other devices.
I scan a wide range of frequencies, but to answer your question the 450s and 460s have been the affected ones in this case.
Hopefully the promising results continue. I am listening as I type this and other than some background static (which has always been the case) so far it has been okay...
As an update so far to this thread:
Currently the interference has significantly decreased. Ironically I did not make any intentional changes to the wifi signal. However, the next day after my original post there was a power outage. Upon power restoration I noticed that the affected scanner...
I actually kept my original cables from my old router. The net cable, etc. that came with the old one was much better quality (how sad is that?)
I don't have any legacy devices that need 2.4 and my wifi camera system has its own hub (which I've had for about 5 years).
I will have to...
Unfortunately I don't. But since there are two of them (router and satellite) I experimented with one, then the other, then both. Unless both wall warts are bad, which is less likely, it's the wifi signal itself.
I experimented with turning off the wifi but leaving the units plugged in to check if the wall warts were causing the problem.
The interference went away as soon as I flipped the switch. Upon the wifi starting up again it returned.
I'm going to compare it with my BCD325P2 on the same frequencies and see what happens.
It is strange that it is only certain systems doing it. Presumably whatever the frequencies of those particular channels are are susceptible.
I can't. The place isn't big enough to move the unit out of range.
I unplugged the satellite extender and left the main router in the other room still plugged in. The interference decreased but was still there. There were 0 issues the day prior before the wifi upgrade.
No. I'm not running...
When I unplug the satellite router, the interference remains, though slightly less.
This is what I have:

Everything was fine until literally within the hour I turned on the new Wifi 6 system.
That's the problem. I am not able to mount it outside as it is a rental and I can't drill into the siding of the building.
