Looks absolutely great! I'm in the process of doing the same thing and will definitely use this as a model. I haven't decided on Gator Case or a more traditional wooden rack but I like the look and decreased depth of the Gator Case products.

What you're describing sounds similar to what was described in this post: https://forums.radioreference.com/threads/nx5300-slow-to-open-squelch.384508/ . If you have access to the CPS for both radios, try adjusting the mute hold time as described in Post #8 in the linked post and see if that helps.

Glad that seemed to work. FYI I’m running mine at 10 ms with no unmute issues. 400 ms may still be too long.

Do you have KPG-D1N? Under Personal -> System 1 (or whatever you call it) -> Personal Features -> Try lowering the Mute Hold Time and see if that helps.
