I have noticed that too. I can give you 6355 seems to be Mid Co 114 Ambulance, 6493 seems to be all Co. EMS units, 6495 seems to be all Co. Fire units, 6498 Appears to be Mellen Fire. Other talk groups to watch are: 6324, 6474(May be Cedarville Fire), 6483, 6491(may be Cedarville Fire), 6497...

Thats what it sounds like decters, spike pullers, trains, brakemen, machine shop, Tildon Operator, yard cleaner, and Eagle Operator. There are other Talkgroups using that frequency but I think they might be Cloverland Elect. I'm over 50 miles south of Ishpeming, so Cloverland is guess.

Up here in the UP of Michigan, I get Polar Air, Jazz Aviation, and Air Canada using that frequency.

For Gogebic units I have: 27 Alpha Gogebic SO, 27 Baker Ironwood PS, 27 Charles Marenesco PS, Delta Tribal PD, and 86 would be MSP Wakefield Post.

When you open the software program, go to Advanced Features tab. In the second column there are signal bar settings. Match your friends setting and both scanners should be the same. Mine are Bar 1-190, Bar 2 - 230, Br 3 - 260, Bar 4 - 290, and Bar 5 - 320.

That That would be Guardian Flight using MPSCS If you program Unit ID 9523500 and set an alert you should catch it if you are in the Escanaba, Iron Mt, Marq areas, and they are flying.

I would say seldom. I am running Uniden radios, that very quickly says encrypted before it resume scanning, but I get a lot of traffic and have yet to see the encrypted word pop up.
