Motorola DTR700 Portable Digital Radio 900Mhz

Is the channel you are using programmed as a Private Group or Profile ID? They are two different things and cannot talk to each other. Private groups program and function identical to the legacy DTRs where the 11 digit private contact of every radio the group has to be programmed into every...

    Target Digital Radios

Anti scanner radios LOL. I've heard of them referred to that before. :) How interoperable are they? Not very. The legacy DTR410/550/650 models, DTR1020/1060 models, DTR600/700 models and the new Curve series model will all work with each other. They will not work with any other radios...

    Target Digital Radios

The local Cosco Wholesale near me uses DLR radios at the factory default settings. I am able to easily hear them when in range. People seem to be using these radios right out of the box at the factory default settings like FRS bubble packs. I purposely keep the default public talkgroups in my...

Motorola Curve Series 900MHz FHSS radio, DTR/DLR compatible, with WiFi

<yawn> I'll pass on this one. I already have a fleet of DTR700 radios and a fleet of legacy DTR650 radios and have previously owned a small fleet of DLR1060 radios. DLR = Digital Lightweight Radio, according to Motorola. I agree, it looks interesting but I don't see a compelling use case for...

Midland petitions FCC for waiver to allow data Tx from non-handheld GMRS radios

I already do use P25 and DMR on amateur radio. I would love to be able to legally use P25 and DMR on GMRS but that probably will never happen. Midland's petition may be a small step toward someday allowing digital voice on GMRS.

Midland petitions FCC for waiver to allow data Tx from non-handheld GMRS radios

There is a repeater available for the Motorola DTR and DLR radios. http://www.canewirelesspro.com/drx-repeater.html ISM is not the way to go for GMRS. I would love to be able to use DMR, P25, and NXDN legally on GMRS but that probably will never happen.

Which type of radio for shooting range?

Motorola specifically warns that the DTRs and the DLR1020/1060 radios are NOT recommended for public safety use. If using conventional radios on GMRS, stick to using only good quality commercial gear. Nothing else is really up to the job. DO NOT use FRS bubble packs. Stay away from the CCRs...

    callbox

The 902-928MHz ISM band is license-free, but not regulation-free. You still have to follow the rules. The 900MHz Motorola DTR, DLR, and CB300D operate unlicensed under Part 15 in the 902-928MHz band. Note that the term in this case is simply "unlicensed" instead of "license by rule". They...

    callbox

If you're into using the 900MHz Motorola DTR & DLR series radios, Motorola has a digital callbox solution...... https://www.motorolasolutions.com/en_us/products/two-way-radio-accessories/call-boxes/retail-call-boxes/cb300-digital-retail-call-box.html#taboverview The CB300D works with the DTR...

    Digital on 46O.O25 and 46O.O5

I miss the old days of Teletype zeroes. A zero character printed on a Teletype was a zero with a forward slash through it to differentiate it from an uppercase "O" character. All letters printed on a classic Model 33 Teletype were uppercase only.

You are correct in that when in off network Direct Talk mode, the iDEN network (i.e., NEXTEL) is not used at all. The off network Direct Talk (DT) feature is not to be confused with the Direct Connect (DC) PTT feature which used the iDEN network. No iDEN network service is available while in...

Midland petitions FCC for waiver to allow data Tx from non-handheld GMRS radios

No private groups in the DTR410, IIRC. Private groups started with the DTR550 and DTR650 models.

    Cats

My wife and I have 4 cats. I've never hard a problem with them getting into my radio stuff. They aren't interested at all. We had one cat years ago that liked to chew on the end of the antenna on my handhelds. The teeth marks were there. One of our cats likes to jump vertically from the...

Motorola DTR700 Portable Digital Radio 900Mhz

LOL, having too many radios is almost enough. LOL. :D I sold my DLR1060 fleet to a friend for his business after I got my DTR700 fleet. At first he wasn't sure what he was going to use them for except maybe as rental radios for his customers. Now he and his employees use them ALL the time...

Motorola Curve Series 900MHz FHSS radio, DTR/DLR compatible, with WiFi

I too am confused on the WiFi aspect of it. Not much information is available yet. The Voice Assist Button (VAB) on the front is used to control the WiFi features. The Curve likely requires the CPS to set up the WiFi connection before using it. Model: DLR110NBHLAA (HVIN: DLR110NB1) The...
