Yes those are good things to take into account. Maybe it is just local interference. I'm going to try different radios and antennas and see how they perform. A more sensitive receiver would be more sensitive to interference but if it has good selectivity then I guess it wouldn't matter. Don't...

Always have to have my squelch halfway to more than halfway otherwise she won't scan. I miss transmissions having the squelch so closed. Any idea how to alieviate this, anyone have the same problem before?? Maybe it's just the radio, doesn't light up as well as it should either I was told.
