I'm doing some looking into it. I'll let you know if I figure something out.

    Johnson County encryption

I suspect it's a push by the usual three letter suspects to mitigate public insight into summer 2020 route activities.

What is this wideband signal at 35.150?

I've seen this for a year or so. I might have posted about it before but can't remember. It's about 50k wide and runs for minutes at a time with brief pauses.

SDS100/SDS200: SDS 100 modification for internal GPS

I used the ATGM336H. Mini GPS Module for Arduino (ATGM336H + Antenna) — Maker Portal I then routed its TTL output to a micro RS232 converter https://www.amazon.com/HiLetgo-Level-Converter-Board-Rs232/dp/B00LUDCAXQ I connected the output of the RS232 converter to the pins of the GPS port where...

SDS100/SDS200: SDS Firmware 12/21/23 Digital Reception Improvements

No, sorry, I was unclear. It's nothing to do with the upgrade. I'm just saying that all the extra detail in the waterfall really needs a brighter display to bring it out. I have mine side by side with my IC7300, which they obviously design copied, and the 7300 is probably 3x brighter. It's just...

SDS100/SDS200: SDS Firmware 12/21/23 Digital Reception Improvements

After doing the upgrade the lack of display brightness is really evident. I'm considering opening it up and doing something to ramp up the output.

CDM Motorola CDM 1250 consuming power when is off

That's an options board. We had Transcrypt voice scramblers in the units at work in that location. Can you take the little cover off and see what it is? Being a CDM1550LS it might be some LTR trunking add on. I wouldn't expect it to consume much current though.

    SDS100/SDS200: New SDS Firmware (2023)

I assume the 100 is the same (haven't updated my 100 yet) but I had the same question and I tried moving to P25 traffic channels with my 200 and it decoded them just fine. Even having moved out of a predefined range like FRS by entering an 800 freq it decoded the audio. I hope Uniden stocked...

Future SDS Firmware to include waterfall option .

This is neat! I like the presets and how they throw the channel name up at the corner like FRS1, FRS2 or RR 30/360 or whatever. That is handy. It will be fun to play with in the daytime on lowband when the skip is in. BTW, what is Racing 800M? There exists an 800 MHz band for racing?

    DIY XG-100M CAN bus terminator?

Power will be easier due to the much larger size. The only problem I ran into with the CAN is it's so small and support material is difficult to remove but it works. Figuring out a decent cable strain retention method was a bit of a head scratcher but I decided that since there's no real cost...

    DIY XG-100M CAN bus terminator?

I just mocked up the connector in CAD and 3D printed them. Now I can make any connector I want any time. No, sorry, not giving out the file due to patent issues, etc... but it's not difficult. You don't really even need the retaining ring. Mine fit snug enough they aren't coming out without...
