DAS banned in Denver and Seattle?

Measured 30 dB of attenuation at the Texas Live Hotel in Arlington on the first guest floor which sits 18" above the convention center's roof. The measurements were taken 2 feet apart, one on the outside and one on the inside of the glass.

    HT1000 programming woes

I'm also going to vote on the issue with the radio if you can program HT1000's with that setup. I regularly program HT1000's on a Core 2 Dell PC that was manufactured in 2012 and used as a Stargate Console position. It netboots (over PXE) DOS 7.1 which was taken from the Windows 98 boot floppy...

Austin area P25 trunk system 13B on 464.5

13B almost sounds like a jab at 13E. The fact it's on an itinerant frequency would suggest to me someone is playing with DVM Project (maybe the CenTex Trunking guys).

    Austin going encrypted April 22

That was my thought exactly. You only know about their use from the ones you catch...not the ones you don't.

    Repeater controller options/opinions

Reminds me of a system that that full duplex amateur system I mentioned was based off of. TKR-750's using full duplex TKR-850's to transport audio (Tone Detect was used in place of COR and instead of PTT we used Tone enable/disable). Worked great until we tried to upgrade the TKR-750's for...

    Repeater controller options/opinions

I have two methods that I would approach it. I ordered a Pi Controller 1x two days ago to give it a try. You can add remote resources to it (i.e. another receiver and transmitter pair via IP) so you could scale multiple co-located Pi Controllers fairly easily (the SVXLink documentation has some...

    What Radio do you recommend

It's not always what's approved but what the provider of templates is willing to keep up with. For example, I list Kenwood TK-5210/TK-5220/TK-5710/TK-5720/NX-5000 radios as approved but I won't touch them...I'm hopping those who still have them will abandon them because I won't fix the codeplug...

    NMO mount antennas

It's a fender mount on a XJ Cherokee. It works better than those who just throw any CB antenna on and don't bother to tune it. It's not something that is relied on or used often.

    Kenwood / Viking VP8000 Battery

You are thinking of the older 5100 series battery. The VP600/900 battery is similar exterior wise...but the unlike the previous generation the batteries are not interchangeable with XTS5000.

    Test Equipment Recommendations

So I just got to see the CX300 for the first time today and learned it does have a VNA option. I withheld my comment about the R8200 at least including the VNA in the base price (don't want it...buy an R8100). Didn't get the opportunity to really play with the CX300 though. Some things I think...

    Test Equipment Recommendations

A DMR repeater has a continuous carrier when transmitting regardless of whether it is actively transmitting on both time slots or single time slot. A Bird 43 is fine for measuring forward and reflected power from the repeater. Subscribers are different story though. I don't know if you will ever...

    DB224 refuses to duplex

We only consider 224's to have a 5 year service life due to all the issues related with water ingress on the phasing harnesses. I won't buy CommScope antennas anymore these days...

    Bell P25 Grief

What would that actually accomplish form the mutual aid point though? There isn't enough coverage overlap in the case of Bell County/GATRRS and Bell County/HOTRRS to really make full time patches a practical option. Also radios don't seamlessly roam between to desperate systems as they can roam...

EFJ typically makes all voice channels as AC's just like Harris. Motorola is the one that only does 4 potentials which is a holdover from the old Privacy Plus/6809 days.

I don't actually know what LCRA bills me right now...need to look into that. What other system were they looking at going on to? Some systems, if you build the infrastructure and expand the system, you don't pay subscriber fees per se.

Two Step Inn Music Festival - STA License
