down here in sw iowa almost all paging is on analog and the digital is for talk. Last night I posted the previous message and only Mills Co. was paging on digital, this morning Fremont started testing pager tones on the fire frequencies. (ask and ye shall receive)

I was asking about digital paging on fire and ems last night in Iowa and today Fremont county started test it on their fire frequencies. Mills county was first in this area to page on digital frequencies now it looks like Fremont is following suit.

Question. Are there many digital paging systems being used in Iowa. I have one working in my area and it is much better than analog pagers. Where i was picking up a very weak page on analog, I pick up a vary strong signal now. I read where digital paging may take a while to take hold in Iowa.

I have never heard any traffic on Southwest Iowa Interop here in Farragut but after researching the subject I've come to the conclusion that it might be the counties near Glenwood (Mills Co). The TG's of the Southwest Iowa Interop are in the same group of the Mills County TG's. check it out on...

Does anyone know which TG is 56701? It's not on the website but I'm picking it up on the scanner in southwest Iowa.

I've been listening to digital for about a year, before that analog. Taught myself digital programming from YouTube and reading manual though much of the manual was Greek to me, but helpful. Got a small BCD996P2 and it is getting busy in this corner of the state. Pick-up Montgomery off of...

The deputy I talked about previously told me that Montgomery and Mills were set to come on in April. I have heard some new TG's but have not been able to lock them down (they're gone before I can get to the scanner). Hopefully will have Page, Fremont, Mills and Montgomery locked in by the end...

Thank you for the info. Also talked to deputy sheriff of Fremont Co and they should be going online any day now as they are using two TG's. 30201 for Law and 30205 for County Fire. There will probably more TG's later.

New TG for South West Iowa. 30201. This TG is being used for Fremont County Law part time. Also heard TG's 30202,30205,30206,and30208 being tested. I would also like to know how Montgomery is coming along, they're supposed to transition anytime now. Any info would be appreciated.

I think Fremont Co is coming up as within the last hour they have put up the frequencies and they've been testing the last two weeks. they're still on analog but are testing some areas in the county.

Thank you. I figured they were getting close after hearing all the testing last month. The sooner the better. Mobile units on the emergency services will benefit greatly.

Has anyone heard any information about Fremont county joining ISICS soon? I heard testing off the Sidney tower about 1 month ago.

Annoying yes! My wife got so annoyed that she threatened me if I didn't lock out the test she'd throw my scanner in the river. I complied.

I have been hearing tests on the Sidney tower and I presume that Fremont county is preparing to join ISICS. I am getting Page county off of the same tower. Right now I'm hearing silly sentences all day long which is just like what techs were doing when Page county was gearing up it's system...

I'm a former EMT, and I wish I would have had a communications system like the emergency responders have now. I'd get 6 or 7 miles out of town and if I wanted to talk to the other units I'd have to go through the dispatcher instead direct. If I have confidential info, now, I can go to an...

What impressed me was, 2 pursuits from Hwy34, down Hwy 71 to near Clarinda near Hwy 2, three days apart. The ability of State troopers to talk to the Page County sheriffs and coordinate units to stop both pursuits. No having to relay messages through the dispatchers, and the new system...

Friday, yesterday, and today I've been picking DPS LAW 3B down here in Farragut. It appears all troopers in SW and West Iowa are using this TG to communicate with Storm Lake in Area B. Been picking up off of Sidney Tower on which I also monitor Page County and between the two, my little scanner...
