Are you using programming software? For your scanner you can use ARC500 or PSREdit500. I use Butel ARC500 Basic to program my Radio Shack PRO-106, the older brother of your scanner.

I used a 1/2 wave CB marine antenna on a popup camper trailer with a plastic top. A 1/2 wave antenna does not require a ground plane and it folded over when the camper was not in use.

I looked at a friend's BCD536HP which was totally dead. No display, no backlight, no nothing. It was a bad SD card. The SD card is the weakest link in the chain and should always be eliminated first.

You can do a control channel dump to the PC/IF port using the PRO-106 and PRO-197. I just checked using a PRO-106 and PRO96Com. PRO96Com is reading the data from the scanner.

Do you happen to know the Site NAC for sites 002 and 010? Those 2 are shown as N/A in the database. All of the other Site NAC's are 800. Thanks!

That is the bad news. The WS1040 does not like simulcast sites. The scanner may or may not work depending upon location in relation to the towers.
