I have a dell 8in win 8 tablet that works with a usb host cable(go cable) and i can connect the scanner to it. Not useful only had 32 g of internal storage but works with sentinal if i need when not home

VLC will play the audio from the scanner from the lan connection. I am not familiar with icecast but maybe there is a way to grt the audio to icecast in linux. I know there is VLC for ubuntu

Probably the hold back there would be they would have to be able to assure that through the interface would not allow access for hackers to access cell frequency other wise they could be in trouble with the fcc

You can replace the clock and date with other info on the sds 200 (what you dont know wont hurt you)

I think it would be great if they would work on uses for the usb port in the back to access to the SDR I guess that is for. I know a British guy did a hack. but hopefully there is more capability there. I also would like to know what the USB host port on the front is for

You did understand correctly. You could maybe return it but I believe whistler needs Windows as well

Id search works on my sds200 it will show tgs not in the favorit list.. then if press E when that tg is displayed you will get the option to save it
