Throughout today while listening Oswego units have sounded "digital" and yet it's coming over as NFM unsure what this is. Both battalion 1 and engine 3 have sounded like this for the past few minutes and been going on and off all day. Dose anyone have any explanation? This sounds like some sort...

Fully encrypted or switching from clear to encrypted? I'm out of state at the moment I'm positive Fire 3 should be able to switch from both. And recently Kendall did put in their meeting notes they needed to fix the fire radios before doing anything with PD so they could be testing on Fire 3

Latest meeting notes suggest Kendall PD will be digital by this fall after current projects are done. Unsure if full time encryption is being pursued as they didn't mention it in this latest meeting.

I don't see a problem with wanting to use a better radio to scan a system then a scanner I have no ill intentions other than to scan the system. I have a Motorola XTS that I use for analog same thing I use it because it receives better. TX is off and the radio will not affiliate with any system...

Last night at around 7pm Kendall County Sheriff's & Oswego PD dispatch traffic switched over to P5 the encrypted tactical channel. Could be for ISP for a patch, ISP don't have the DeKalb system in there radios and its not going over the DeKalb system on calls

Expansion with who? Idk who got those TGs or how they found out about them but no FD is looking to join them. Unless they want to be dumb and make another fire dispatch with only two agencies on it. Their resources I guess 🤷‍♂️
