I'll second that you need to tune the hotspot for BER. After tuning for BER I have never had problems with any commercial DMR radio (NX-3320, NX-5300, XPR7550e, SL7550, etc.) What does the dashboard say your transmit BER is? I bet its 3+% all the time.

As Evans said, just set the dip switches as final build out, connect it all together, add power and then reflash the whole setup from one of the heads.
