Caught some obvious DPW traffic on 461.600 CC 8

462.4625 has occasional DMR noise

DPW in many communities often don’t have much radio traffic as cell phones are often much more convenient. I’ve added these channels to my “confirmation” system in my SDS200. Short of a snow storm it could take some patience.

I'm shocked you didn't pick up anything from C-PTL-1 and C-PTL-3 as they are very active. One of the best Zone 8 sites is Mt Nebo in Westboro at 495/9. It will simulcast A, B and H along with C.

I tried using headphones and I can hear some faint static almost like the sqeulch is stuck. Changed the batteries. Reset the radio back to factory settings and still the same.
