I attached an image that would suggest Southfield not only uses a separate page group but also a separate page group for each station, or has the ability to, or will be in the future. They may just simulcast it on FD1 so the other stations can be aware of who is going out on what. What does...
Have you ruled out Comcast/Xfinity yet? Their head end for Royal Oak / Ferndale is right there on Delemere at Nakota and they run service and repair trucks out of that location.
Not as of right now. I have only been listening for the last few days and all traffic has been on 32191. Maybe the other one is like a secondary talkgroup. Not really sure as I have not heard any radio traffic on it.
There is no firm go live date yet. I have heard from some of my counterparts in a few Oakland County departments that they are slated for a fall equipment install date, dispatch consoles... which would point towards a late winter or spring go live.
Bryx is a software program that sends all call information to the firefighters cell phones via an app and to computers in the station for station alerting. The only reason for the short transmissions that you do hear over the radio is dispatch just verifying the call went out and that they did...
For what its worth there will also be a number of repeater pairs on the system that will be able to handle phase I radios, for neighboring jurisdictions that affiliate to the simulcast, as well as agiencies like MSP that will also be using the Oakland County Simulcast.
Thats kinda what it is for the veteran dispatchers where I work. Me personally I will call station 20 on statewide 2 but if I need one of those other western wayne cities I will usually do Intercity first because I feel my chances of them answering Intercity is better then with statewide 2.
The G4 can do both digital and analog. The problem is the bands. If you have an 800mhz one (Im assuming you do?) then you will not be able to monitor Intercity which is down on the VHF band.
If the OP is in the Detroit Metro then Intercity is still commonly used as a dispatch to dispatch...
Krokus is 100% correct. While there have been a few local talkgroups that have slipped through the cracks over the years (I can name a few off the top of my head) and will affiliate statewide, it is general practice that local talkgroups will only affiliate in a small area around the...
Dearborn Consolidated Dispatch (Wayne, Westland, Inkster, Garden City, Dearborn, and Melvindale), Canton, Plymouth, Northville, Livonia, Redford, Novi, Farmington Hills, and Southfield all still have and use InterCity.
No paging on VHF anymore. All the FF's now have Unication pagers which no longer requires a VHF patch/multiselect. All normal single station pages go out over the main dispatch talkgroup (82NCFD or 82PCFG) multiselected with the appropriate paging talkgroup (82PGNFC1 or 82PGNFC2). All calls are...

for the two city fire departments....
Northville city FD covers both the city of Northville and the city of Plymouth.
Station 1 is in Northville and is heard on 82NCFD and dispatched by Northville
Station 2 is in Plymouth and is heard on 82PCFG and dispatched by Plymouth
both...
The state of Michigan is completely overhauling the entire site... not just the MPSCS section. Those maps have been available for years publicly on the MPSCS section if the Michigan.gov web site. Once they figure everything out with the links of the new site it will likely come back.
An MPSCS Site will only carry radio traffic from a talkgroup if there is a radio that is affiliated with that site and tuned to that talkgroup... with few exceptions. For example if you wanted to listen to Westland PD you would need to monitor the wayne county simulcast site. The only time you...
On a side note how will that work with the Oakland County towers running Phase 2 and the others still on Phase 1 as far as subscriber radios go? I assume neighbor counties wont be able to affiliate to an Oakland Co site if they are still using an older radio, for example the ever-popular XTS 2500?
I never understood the labeling of West vs East and whats included.... Salem Twp is directly north of Superior Twp both are on the counties far east border but 1 is on the west talkgroup and one is on the east talkgroup?? o_O
Krokus I thought the STATW talkgroups were an exception to that rule and that anything broadcast over those talkgroups went statewide regardless if anyone was tuned in to the talkgroup or not. Is that not the case?
As someone who works in one of those dispatch centers I agree. Could have...
