Just found this thread after a search. I am also confirming that my BCD463HP does not mute encrypted audio or show ENC on P25 phase 2 systems. It does work property on the original P25 systems. My firmware is up date. Looks like are not in a hurry to correct this.

I had the HX-1500 handheld in the late 80's. Was a great scanner. I don't even remember what happened to it.

Very nice program. Thank you! I have noticed that on some channels, it works properly and shows the System but on others it shows "Main" or "Confirmed LCN" instead of the system name. I have attached a screenshot of one where the scanner shows Hartford (City) as the System but the program shows...

I am experiencing the same thing with my local PD, digital 800 MHz. The base is very loud and the mobiles and very soft. AGC makes no difference. Sounds fine on my GRE PSR-500.

I would like to see a case made for this scanner too. I was thinking of using the screen protectors made for smart phones to protect the lens. The problem with that is that the screen is already extremely difficult to see unless you have the backlight on or the lighting conditions are just...

Can anyone tell me if the BCD996XT responds to PL reverse burst when decoding? I have the GRE PSR 500 and I know this scanner does but was wondering if the 996XT does. Thanks, Brian

I had the same problem. Obviously I'm not alone, perhaps putting a small note to this effect on the Screen Tip that shows up when you hover the pointer over the "tag icon" would be helpful. Thanks for the info.

Thanks everyone for the replies. I guess it pretty much comes down to what I suspected, you can't assign the Object ID without using the software. Maybe GRE will allow for this in future firmware releases.
