DAS banned in Denver and Seattle?

I would imagine the E glass windows would help isolate the building's system from the outside world. Our home in AZ has tinted windows with a 5-6 dB loss factor. We were on Verizon when we moved there and phones would drop out from the front to back of the house. T Mobile works fine.

Suggestions on Radio over IP adapters with 4-Wire Line-Level

No way the big M would do something like that, those 'some people' should be ashamed of themselves... When I was at the GE dealer in San Diego we had client in La Jolla who used the 220 MHz ACSB system, I think Standard made it. PTC seems to be the big 220 user now.

    Midland BR180 & Kenwood ProTalkXLS/PKT-23

You seem to have a CTCSS problem from Midland to Kenwood, Can you read the programming for both? The green light means the Kenwood sees the carrier but will not unmute since the CTCSS is wrong. Sometimes there is a monitor button on the side that opens the squelch so you hear any traffic on...

no Duplex operation repeater HYTERA RD625 accessory connector

What settings do you have in conventional / general / accessories / priority control? I have never used this repeater, the RD982 has a phone priority enable box, path and PTT options.

Suggestions on Radio over IP adapters with 4-Wire Line-Level

Was this for a utility company? I taught a class in CT for a company that was moving from MPT1327 to DMR, had hardly heard of that system until then.

    Test Equipment Recommendations

My first shop had Cushmans, one was a CE3, the other model had a vertical wheel used to roll through the numbers to set the freq, don't know if it was older or newer than the CE3. Knowing how tight the owner was it was probably older.

DAS banned in Denver and Seattle?

I looked at the FCC BDA site and found the one in our county government center is not listed. I only see one for our county, a few years ago a security officer at a hospital said they have one, it's not on there either. They kept it off because it caused RFI to the hospital's UHF systems. I know...

    Test Equipment Recommendations

They are high quality with the ability to resist lots of flexing, more so than the standard diameter coax test cables. A friend taught LAS when he was a Bell engineer and had students test their cables in class. Many failed and he had managers call him to complain their budgets were strained...

    Test Equipment Recommendations

I own Copper Mountain R54 VNAs, they are no longer in production, replaced by the R60 with a broader bandwidth. I use the Bird Sitehawk and Anritsu 331D when I teach the ETA antenna and line sweeping class, excuse the shameless plug, all do what you want. The Freedom/Astronic R8200 has a VNA...

    Eclipse in IND

Hendricks county went emergency traffic only during mid day, very little activity radio wise and the same for public safety runs. ARES liaisons were released about an hour after the eclipse ended. A friend's normal 45 min trip to Crawfordsville from Avon took 90 minutes.

    Eclipse in IND

I'm old enough to remember when the Boone county sheriff's office would mark 10-42 on their VHF channel at midnight, I think it was plan A. I see some 7TAC, FIRE and LAW stuff on the 205 in case the fecal matter hits the rotating wind machine. Today's FEMA sitrep shows a MERS unit in Maine...

Morgan Co Request for STA W/ Waivers to TIS Rules For Eclipse

Anyone close enough to hear the station to see what they are saying? Something like GO HOME! LEAVE US ALONE! IT'S ON TV It's been fun to watch the 'news' outlets spin this up, with headlines like 'Chance of clouds on Monday', as if all other Mondays are always clear.

    Eclipse in IND

From the AARs from the last eclipse most agencies did not report radio problems other than a DOT with some busies, I think it was Wyoming. Hendricks county ARES will be providing support at local EOCs. I heard Wayne township schools in Marion county will block parking lots with buses to make...
