    Harris XL-200P Side Port?

I've also been told that the same connection is used when performing the pressure test for UL certification. The antenna style connection is removed for the test and replaced when the test is complete without disturbing the cover of the radio.

Windrock and Knox Simulcast. Occasionally I can get Greentop, but only if the stars are aligned properly.

    Which scanner would be best?

Except for Pigeon Forge and Seymour FD, most of Sevier County is still a black hole of business radios being used for public safety (non standard or scannable protocols) or Big E. Knox County LE is all E. Knox County Fire/EMS is still mostly clear. Same with Blount County LE, Fire, and EMS...

    Uhf med channels in Tennessee

Interesting info. While I thought E TN (Knox Area) were ahead of the curve, it appears we're behind the curve, so to speak, for EMS to Hospital comms?

    Uhf med channels in Tennessee

Interesting. That's the similar info I saw last year about ambulances being provided TACN access (radios?) by the State Board of EMS.

I'm aware of the LODD, one of the reasons I'm paying special attention to the comms in that area.

    Uhf med channels in Tennessee

State of TN EMS board is very late to any discussions about TRS usage. In fact, it's still state law that every licensed ambulance in TN maintains licenses and equipment on VHF 155.205, 155.295, and 155.340. About 18 months ago there was the first information from the State that they were...

I'm seeing traffic on TGID 47215. It's linked/patched/simulcasted (something) to Blount Co SO and LE MA 05, so I'm certain it's LE traffic. It's in a block of otherwise State TGIDs. Lots of Unit IDs from various LEAs (BCSO, THP, KCSO, TBI). My Unitrunker actually shows a whole block of TGIDs...

Perhaps as many as 3 additional tower sites in Anderson County, so I'm told.

    Pigeon Forge area

LE and wildland fire, yes, but GSMNP does not handle EMS transport duties on either side of the park. Local FDs also respond into the park for MVAs for extrication or other rescue situations.

Speaking with a couple of people at RM, their in station alert systems are still very much tied to VHF (IIRC even some as far back as Minitor IIs). I believe they are planning on moving them to TACN, but I was told there's no timeframe (yet).

Looking at TG 10694, all of the traffic today was three dispatch positions radios (confirmed), perhaps someone was simul-selecting at dispatch? M746 was on there once today at 0657. Three other units joined that TGID earlier this week, but no TX. On the other hand, the AMR Med-102 TG (10690)...

Not sure, but it's in a group of mainly other Federal user agencies (ATF, USMS, DEA, etc). Haven't seen that specific TG popup in Knoxville in two years.

    APX mobile programming question

I came across this image (with markup) on FB, it shows a radio unit ID on line 3 of the O2 control head on an APX mobile (a 1500 in this instance). Apparently with other radios transmit, the transmitting radio id replaces this (which I can already see), but does anyone know how to program an APX...

Volunterism in the South just isn't like what it is in Northeast US. Add to that, companies in the South generally cover greater service areas, due to a more rural nature of area and suburban sprawl. Then add the fact that there's limited funding (if there's funding at all). Knoxville, and a...

    Bartlett Public Safety

Also, 8001 is Roane County Net. The RRDB doesn't have an entry for 301 or 308, yet, on TACN. My bad, Bartlett is in Shelby County and they're not on TACN, are they.

A for instance: dispatch selects multiple talk groups in a simul-select for a transmission. The system might, in this instance, use an ad-hoc talk group to process and transmit the call one time on the ad-hoc talk group as a matter of resource conservation, instead of sending the message over...
