    Mid-Atlantic MilAir 2024

Nothing so far on either of those freqs. The Shaw/McEntire freqs are quiet and have been as far as I can tell and have been monitoring those for a few hours. I'm not really set up currently to be very frequency agile so it's hard to scan the band efficiently.

    Mid-Atlantic MilAir 2024

Light comms here north of Charlotte in Cornelius. POTUS CAP must be well south of Columbia as I would have expected signals to be much stronger here. Been listening for a while and signals still are not far above breaking the squelch, mostly inaudible so not sure I'll much help on this one...

Coca Cola 600 - military flyover this year?

Crappy day for a race much less a flyover. I did catch 3x Blackhawks inbound to KJQF at around 1200 local. They worked KCLT app on 128.325 the KJQF Twr on 134.650. They weren't flying together and we're at least 15-20 mins apart so no A/A caught.

    Mid-Atlantic MilAir 2023

I’ve noticed extra activity at times in the last week with Jill and TinCan flights. I’m about to upgrade my antenna systems but I’m not sure there’s much I can to to pick up low level flights that far away, I’m just north of Charlotte. I’m considering installing a remote SDR rx station at my...

    Mid-Atlantic MilAir 2023

Crazing that this happened to be honest. US military assets engaging and shooting down an 'airship' from an enemy land over US sovereign land. We were at a college tour in Columbia and spotted the balloon as we were touring the campus of USC. It was in the clear blue sky due north at approx...

    Possible new KCLT freqencies

a little off-topic but another thing that is worth noting is that there is now very good ads-b ground coverage at KCLT that seems to coincide with the commissioning of the new tower. That's probably a coincidence but in any case someone close enough to KCLT has set up a new feed to provide that...

    Possible new KCLT freqencies

No expert here but do spend quite a bit of time monitoring KCLT and live about 20 mi due north of the field so catch plenty of comms. There were new frequencies for KCLT with the opening of the 3rd parallel runway several years ago but I don't think the new tower would trigger the same change...

    POTUS Visit

I posted on another thread to that affect as well. They were really *****ing about this. Noble asked the taker 'who would be jamming us down here' to which the tanker replied 'the secret service' . Nobles had a very difficult copying Huntress. Tankers and Nobles could not communicate and at one...

    POTUS Visit

OK, 247.05 may be the alternate boom freq for AAR. They were using 228.9 but were having major comms issues there. They did switch freqs but I didn't catch them in AAR after the switch.

Yeah, that's what I was thinking as well. Wizard Alpha and Wizard Bravo are the back-ends working Huntress. They are in orbit just SW of the CAP orbit. Also, 82-8000 which flew into CLT as AF1 took a quick hop down to GSP. That DC10 is the CAP tanker.

more from CLT - 260.9 - NOBLES tell Huntress to have jamming stopped, major difficulty hearing Huntress and Wink (tanker) 364.2 - Wizard Alpha (assumed SENTRY 26) with Huntress

Sticky Thread For Mid-Atlantic MilAir 2020

CAP action from CLT - NOBLES up with Huntress 260.9 NOBLES and tankers 228.9 364.2 active with signal levels comparable to CAP players, SENTRY26 between CLT and AVL, didn't get callsign on 364.2 I don't have a lot of time to search so haven't caught any additional A/A or AAR action. Also, HMX...

    POTUS Visit

If you are set up for it, the CAP action is on 228.9 (tanker/fighter comms) and 260.9 NOBLE fighters with Huntress. I'm sure there are more, haven't found NOBLE A/A yet but don't have a lot of time to search. Also checking the common HMX-1 freqs but nothing yet.

CMPD Protests Just Switched to Encrypted TAC channels

Based on what I'm seeing tracking the UASI system on the PC, all of the CMPD patrol divisions are still using the encrypted Tac channels iwth all the normal patches in place. I have still seen the use of conference channels, which are in the clear, but I think comms on those channels are very...

CMPD Protests Just Switched to Encrypted TAC channels

Good catch. So it was actually referred to as CMPD-1 for both the Huntersville and Davidson departments. All I can see that is interesting on DSD+ or Unitrunker is that CMPD North Tac is patched with TGID 861, which is nowhere to be found in RR. I would assume that TGID is the CMPD-1 TG that...

CMPD Protests Just Switched to Encrypted TAC channels

I fired up DSD+ this morning and can crossreference RID and TGID and track down the actual TG. probably encrypted so we'll be SOL.

CMPD Protests Just Switched to Encrypted TAC channels

what is the source if this info? just curious if that references a CMPD talkgroup that's is tagged as CMPD-1 in their department radios. traditionally Davidson and Huntersville have been dispatched on the CMPD North Division talkgroup. Since CMPD move to encryption at least Huntersville has been...

Statewide North Carolina ANG Flyover Thursday

I assume it's a single ship so no A/A? I was on a work call and missed them departing the CLT area. can anyone confirm?
