Home depot is in the game now

I've got one on my APRS Digi at my Fire Dept tower site here in NY. Haven't had an issue with it and I get direct transmissions out of that site of around 140 miles all the time with 40W output. Kevin N2ZPY

    Kenwood FPU 4.21 (5K) 3.21 (3K)

All I did was add to the folder name in my C drive (_420), point the desktop shortcut to the new location and then install the new version. I'm guessing the folder didn't get renamed in you drive if it wanted to overwrite it.

    Kenwood FPU 4.21 (5K) 3.21 (3K)

Just did this for dual install on my new laptop tonight. Looks good so far. I am planning to upgrade the 5700 and 5800 going into my fire dept trucks as I install them in the next few weeks. Have a few out there with older firmware that I will maintain the 4.20 for now. Kevin N2ZPY Chief...

    NX-5200/5300 2-tone detect with scan

I don't think this is the issue as we tested with no carrier drop before the tone set and it wouldn't alert.

    NX-5200/5300 2-tone detect with scan

I am working with another tech on an issue with a NX-5200. It will 2tone alert fine if you are locked onto the dispatch channel. If you have the radio scanning it will not alert. Any help before we loose any more hair? Thanks! Kevin Chief BCFD N2ZPY

What's your method for Stereo streaming?

I run 2 scanners for my feed. One monitors law and one fire. I used a mono to stereo cable as you described above. Has run this way for years on a PC and I am now just moving it to a Pi so I can remote mount it at a hilltop station for better coverage. Kevin N2ZPY

    RadioFeed 32 bit in Darkice

Have my feed now up and running on a Pi3. It is a stereo feed. I had to move the sample rate up to 48000 to remove a warbling sound in the background. I can still slightly hear it when a transmission is being broadcast but not bad. I can only get the bits per sample field to use 16 on both...

    RadioFeed Stereo feed with Pi

I have had a feed running for years on an old XP PC. Stereo feed worked great. I am moving the feed scanners to a hillltop location that I now have a wifi link to. I have a PI configured and running but can not get the stereo working properly. Both channels end up blending into on channel...

    Downsville, NY 154.385

Delaware County is supposed to be going to a new UHF system for our fire/EMS dispatch. This would explain the simulcast of 46.060. Kevin

    Secondary description changed?

I am going to drag this one back up here.......Was there a problem with the way that I have described my feed ? ? ? I found it changed again today. If someone has a problem with the way that I have the description written please talk to me about it. Please don't just change the details...

    DSL & WiFi

Plug your PC direct into the modem.....see what you get for an IP. My guess is a 192.168.1.X Then check what you get as an IP from your router. I bet you are getting the same thing. You have a double NAT situation going on (2 routers). To get around this change the IP on the LAN side of...

    Grand Gorge, NY (Delaware) VHF

The old 46.220 truck to truck is still used by alot of agencies but it gets crowded when you get a storm or the floods. Plus with the repeaters we can be in contact when we are leaving the station on a mutual aid call and not wait to get assignments until you are right on top of the incident...

    Grand Gorge, NY (Delaware) VHF

That is the highband repeater that GG,Rox, and Stamford use. Very similar the the one Bovina uses. You should hear chatter on it whenever they go out on calls. Bovina's us used for Fire/EMS as primary and the highway dept uses it during the day. This also helps when we are out on storms...

    Andes, NY VHF???

Gotta be at least low power setting on a Kenwood 690/790 setup. I am guessing the 790 is the 110W deck. from 2500' elevation that will get out! Kevin

    Andes, NY VHF???

No I don't have the PL......I didn't even have the freq until you mentioned it. If I can get the PC on their kenwoods at some point I will have it. You won't hear much activity on that freq anyway. It is in their rescue truck and only used when they are out on calls. You picked it up in...

    Andes, NY VHF???

Most likely you were hearing Andes x-band repeater in their rescue truck. They were covering a MVA for my dept (Bovina) while we were mutual aid to a structure fire in Delhi. Franklin also had a MVA at around the same time. Our MVA was at the top of County hwy 5 looking down into Hobart/South...
