Inserting alpha tags - darkice & Linux

Thanks boatbod. Turns out I need to translate spaces in the "song" name to + for it to be accepted. Changed my code and now I have alpha tags on my stream. Now people can see what channel the radios have stopped on. Sweet! https://www.broadcastify.com/listen/feed/12965

Inserting alpha tags - darkice & Linux

Hi Folks. I use darkice on Linux for my stream. I have also recently written some custom software to get the current channel number data out of the radios and generate an alpha tags string. I can update my own Icecast2 based streaming server's metadata by calling the admin API URL and can see...

    RR Auto Config Error (302)

I get a strange error too... Although my feed is sending, and appears to be online, anyone trying to connect to it from Broadcastify just gets a 404 Not found or a time-out error. Been like that for about a week now.

    Live audio from existing server

Hi. I have an existing shoutcast server which is streaming my radio scanner. I'd like to provide it to the folks on RadioReference. Do I have to supply the feed twice or can RR's server connect to mine? Gavin.

    Broadcastify Questions and Answers

While, yes, equipment, time and money (we generally pay for outgoing traffic in Australia) go into providing feeds, the real cost is borne by RR. I'd just like to say I appreciate the work and the significant amount of money that goes into RR and into the new Broadcast service.

The Official Thread: Live audio feeds, scanners, and... wait for it.. ENCRYPTION!

It's not the only reason, though. In Australia we just have state police (no city, county, etc) so their radio networks tend to be huge and cover massive areas. The police sell the cost of the network upgrades to the government by saying "we need encryption because crooks are listening to us"...

    A request to Uniden

It would be nice if Uniden released a scanner that supported MPT 1327 trunking which is far more popular here than the Motorola stuff.

What kind of radio or scanner do you use

I use a Philips FM92 transceiver for my feed. Old FM92s are cheap as chips (often free!) around here and I think commercial radios designed for the band have better audio and signal quality than your general DC to daylight scanners. That, plus it's cheaper :-)

When is your feed most active?

Most active? Right now. It's a fire and rescue stream and it's fire season :)
