    2019 Chevy Silverado Install

Garmin Drive Smart 66. A huge upgrade from the old Nuvi I used to rock with. I really like the FourSquare and Tripadvisor integration on it...I can type in a business or place like BestBuy and it'll find them for me vs having to type in the whole address.

    2019 Chevy Silverado Install

Above the pedals on the driver side. There's several spots you can tap off of for it. I don't recall off the top of my head where now but I utilized GM Upfitter to find spots.

    2019 Chevy Silverado Install

They are agency radios that were ordered before my time there. If I recall correctly, and don't quote me on this, the 7500s came out before the 6500s and you could delete a band to keep the price down.

Nope, LEDs were changed out to green by a member here actually!

    2019 Chevy Silverado Install

I guess I should ask what GPS you were referring to! If you're talking about the Garmin on my console, it's actually a magnetic mount from Gamber Johnson. They were giving them away with each new console at one point. The magnet is actually super strong, it hasn't moved once since I put it there.

    2019 Chevy Silverado Install

1500 The GPS are the standard Uniden ones. They're mounted inside of the console. While I'm sure it's not down to 10 meters of accuracy, it's within a mile of accuracy. Good enough to place me in the County I am in.

    2019 Chevy Silverado Install

I replaced my 2014 Chevy Silverado a few years ago and I’m finally getting around to posting the setup. Install this time took probably 100 hours total on my own. A lot of that time was just taking things slow and running the wires correctly. I went with a Havis widebody console. Background...

    Favorites List over 1MB

Yes. It's the radio IDs pushing me over the limit. It was fine before I imported all my radio IDs.

    Favorites List over 1MB

That is correct. Each favorite list can only be 1MB. Now that we've established that, does anyone have a workaround?

    Favorites List over 1MB

....except you can't have a favorites list over 1MB. Sentinel throws an error. It doesn't save it to the SD card thus my question on a work around.

    Favorites List over 1MB

Is there a way to have my Unit ID list split from my Favorite's List somehow? I imported A LOT of Unit IDs and my Favorite's List has now grown to 2.26MBs. I really want to keep all my Unit IDs in there as it's useful. Anyone found a workaround for this problem? Thanks.

    Future encryption

You can program radios to be strapped (encrypted) all the time on a certain TG or make it switchable (both by the end user and dispatch). Kinda depends on the agency. Yes, you can use the same encryption key for multiple TGs or different one. Comes down to agency/radio division policies.

Patching Analog VHF Simplex to Trunked P25 for VFD Voice Paging

I wouldn't recommend that, that's overkill. A JPS RSP Z2 would be a better purpose device.

    APX Model 2/3

FYI APX radios will not display the same MDC ID it is programmed for. AKA if both radios are programmed with MDC 1234, it won't display it.

    Future encryption

It's not a matter of hiding anything. It's a matter of the general public doesn't need to know where the police/fire are going 24/7. With the advent of all this "scanner pages" and scanner apps, it does hinder law enforcement from doing their jobs occasionally. You have no idea how many times...
