    OK...so it appears that old CPSs do not like to be installed with New CPSs (or vice versa). Uninstalled both CPSs and then reinstalled the new CPS... Everything is golden now! thanks for the quick replies though

    ok if i use an older CPS with my astro III, then I can change the channel names no problem. However my XTS3000 II has a codeplug that is too new for the older CPS and it is in the newer CPS that I cant change the channel names...(Either radios)

    all of these radios would have been programed with SBFD radio IDs....and judging the neighborhood they were taken from no one will have the capability to reprogram them.
