    New to Roanoke area

Or possibly, though not likely, the APX may be emitting spurs that "jam" the 436. But simulcast a more plausible reason.

    VDOT Radio Frequencies

Likewise I added these a couple weeks ago and have not heard a peep.

    Shelbyville TN 37160 Fire Frequencies

Won't swear to it but my recollection is that it is DMR. I did spend much time on it though.

    If TACN will be P25.

    Central Maryland Conventional Frequencies Findings

If DMR by definition they will be digital. For SDS scanners you will need a key (from Uniden) to decode those not encrypted.

    Nashville Question

Not sure why the older unencrypted remain but Fire/EMS/Police are fully encrypted. The ops channels for the parks/shows were accurate last check. Indy teams were not encrypted last time but PS was. Lot of things to listen to downtown if that is where you are staying. Safe travels.

    SDS100/SDS200: SDS100 VHF question

I have a FL programmed and Arlington site is one of the four sites I have for VSP. Works fine.

    Greene County Tennessee

Agree with bud, it is a fine line and the PS radio community has many lawyers advising PS entities to E to avoid risk. And there are risks. These days criminals may well decide to ambush LE rather than run. And many folks would rather others not know their medical history. Before cell phone...

    Fairfax County (P16) Gone?

My guess is 575 is correct, 600 not registering. That said with full strength at my location one would think with ID search something would have populated in north Fairfax. Part of the hobby to continue (or not) to track and see what transpires. Would be interesting to know where Parks and...

    Fairfax County (P16) Gone?

Have had it running 24/7 for a week with ID search and no hits. Not sure where parks and all went but not traffic noted on ProScan.

    SDS100/SDS200: SDS 100 won’t power on

Thinking might want to check the output of the charger before using it again. And agree with others scanner needs a trip to Uniden.

    Fairfax County (P16) Gone?

I noticed it changed to 853.575. I have monitored the system using this frequency as both a Motorola system and a P25 and not hits over 72 hours. Perhaps someone else has some thoughts. So perhaps it is solely a backup system now. I don't have an SDR presently.

    Fairfax County (P16) Gone?

Try 853.1375. I entered all of the listed frequencies and this one had the tell tale audio of a trunking system CC.

    Lightning Arrestor?

mmkenna and all thanks. Some good info in here with the truth that a direct hit rarely ends well outside of a very hardened system. One of our commercial installers showed me a photo of an AC line he had coiled and was laying on the floor which up to the coil was vaporized and beyond which the...

    Lightning Arrestor?

mmkenna, any thoughts on coiling the coax? I know some installers who do this for the AC cords and swear by it with anecdotal experience (i.e. DC likes a straight line path), wondering if same holds true for coax, all other things being equal.

Problem with Starrsoft Win95 data entry

Using it on Win 10 with no problems. Driver only an issue if it will not recognize the interface to the scanner. Agree that creating a new file may be a good first start. We have not heard from Mr. Starr in several years but perhaps he might respond from his email on the product page...

    Lightning Arrestor?

If you can access them the ARRL has several good articles on lightning protection. Lightning Protection (arrl.org) I agree polyphaser one of if not the best, alpha delta also very good. This is an area you do not want to skimp on including the grounding rods (plural) and tying into your home...
