    Fox59 story on Encryption

The media is never granted and exception and allowed to monitor encrypted communications in real time?

    2023 IndyCar Thread

I know numerous complaints have been made all the way up to RP, but they just don't seem motivated to do anything about it.

    2023 IndyCar Thread

I bought it at Mid Ohio one year because RE provided OTA programming. Those days are gone. They only service NAPCAR now.

I hand-programmed the primary car frequencies (with tones) and IMS radio and PA into an RE3000, and everything worked perfectly yesterday. Big thanks to you guys who compiled the data!

Should the above list be good/final, assuming Rahal uses the Wilson radios? I haven't had a chance to verify any of this (I'm planning to on Carb Day). Thanks again!

    2023 IndyCar Thread

Thanks... I know the purpose of tones, but didn't know how much of a potential problem interference can be out at the Speedway. My dad used to race out there (21 indy 500's) and way back in the day, I promoted a Regency desktop 4-channel (IIRC) scanner to monitor him and Race Control from our...

    2023 IndyCar Thread

Thanks for all your work on this, guys! Can you post a plain text list of the current IndyCar freq's so I can hand-program an RE3000? I should be at the track this weekend both days, so I can help to verify if needed. Edit: I see they're in the zip file in the Spotter Guide. Any reason to...

Thanks for posting that... If anyone has anything newer or more complete (this one currently lacks seven cars of the 34 that will attempt to qualify for the "500"), please share!

Two officers shot near 30th and Post

Happening fast... one suspect holed up in a garage, K9's, drone and helicopter on scene. I think they just apprehended both suspects.

Candidate for Indianapolis Mayor calls for no encryption on radio system

Good thoughts being shared here. 99.9% of us are good people who support and respect law enforcement and would take personal risks to help law enforcement officers if and when we can. We shouldn't be treated like the other .1%. Transparency, trust, and accountability don't compute with that...

Another "I just got a new SDS100" thread

I'll be brief. I unboxed it (2021 build but had latest firmware and sub-CPU installed from the factory), updated the DB using Sentinel, and fired it up. I'm out near Clermont and the performance was immediately impressive, though location-based scanning is simply too ambitious for one radio to...

Based on my location, what are my best options?

The Uniden SDS100 (handheld) and SDS200 (portable) are currently the most capable scanners money can buy, and both are well under $1000. You can't go wrong buying either. They might represent the permanent pinnacle of scanner technology, as (this is a gut feeling of mine) encryption becomes more...
