    NYPD SOD terminology

When an “SOD” unit puts over “a landline request” it means someone called the esu base of that esu unit and asked for help. They do it via landline so it is discrete. Can be as simple as a sector locked their keys in the car or dropped them in a sewer. A landline request can be anything.

Wouldn’t believe it till it happened to me. Long story short. Chiefs car parked in a driveway on an incline. I’m working the fire for a good 45 minutes. Everything gets wrapped up. Using the CDM in the rear of the car I get the low battery sound like the waris portables. I don’t think twice...

    Motorola CDM 1250 Strange Issue

Yeah your drawing to much current from the lighter plug. The main power needs to go to the battery and you need to use the ignition kit and reprogram the radio for ignition. The cigarette plug doesn’t have enough current to power the radio on Tx.

    Everything NYPD encryption.

Each division, when going digital is completely changing. Each division is being transitioned to a simulcast footprint. That’s why it’s taking so long. It’s not just a matter of “flicking a switch”.

    NYPD Call Signs

The old way was “beat”. The post# and beat# were the same. Now it’s just a number based on how many foot post there are. When assigning a foot post at roll call a cop or cops will get a post # usually starting with one. They may be FTU (field training unit) post they will go over has FTU...

Auto play not working on OpenMHZ site monitoring NYPD with Windows 11

Sounds like reception issues on the feed providers end. IMD rejection on scanners sucks. It wouldn’t be co-channel causing interference. co-channel means same frequency, It would be IMD There was no IMD before, therefore there shouldn’t be any IMD now. Same frequencies and power just...
