    Pro 2096 sensitive issue?

The OP never mentioned that his "local frequencies" were P25 or part of a trunked system. OP, please tell us with what frequencies or system(s) you're having problems.

    Interesting Use of a Yagi

Yeah, sure made for a shorter feedline run as opposed to all the way to the top of the tower!

    Interesting Use of a Yagi

So my wife was in hospital in a nearby town... every day I parked next to this village water tower and was bemused by this yagi, pointed straight up, and apparently reflecting its signal off the curved bottom of the ball. A little analysis on Google Maps show that this would be pointed right at...

    volo auto museum radio freq

Volo and the Volo Auto Museum are in Lake County, not McHenry County. The last valid FCC license for them expired in 2001, and they're not on any of the commercial radio systems in the area (per the RR DB). My guess is they're using FRS/GMRS or a low power digital system like this: Motorola...

    TRX-1: Looking to get a TRX-1

Actually, you don't need a 'puter to run the original models either... just for setup and programming. I do this often when working in the garage. Set it on the workbench (using an iPhone charger cube for power), connect to a Bluetooth speaker, and good to go.

Psr 800 help with setting up

Actually EZ Scan has the ability to import your programming from the PSR-600 family of scanners. I imported my PRO-106/197 programming with great results.

Quad 3 - Tornado Siren Testing Tones

Hi Bud! Great observations... hope I can help (I've lived in the district for years and work with my Village's Emergency Management Agency). Nope, the siren activation sequence has been broadcast on Quad 3 as long as I've lived here. Quad 3 was formerly shared by Barrington FD and Wauconda FD...

    Pro 197 help

Check out the P25RX / P25RX-II / Micro P25RX from BlueTail Technologies: BlueTail Technlogies I've had my P25RX-II for about two-and-a-half years and it works flawlessly for my county's P25 Phase II system... sounds just as good as the APX7000s our PD and FD use. You can monitor more than one...

RadioFeed Port Rdio-scanner to Radio Feed for Broadcastify?

Hi all... have a P25RX-II on my main PC downstairs working great with Rdio-scanner to feed audio to devices on my home network. Now I'd like to run Radio Feed on a PC upstairs and feed the Rdio-scanner web client audio to Radio Feed for my Broadcastify feed. I'm guessing that a virtual audio...

ILEAS Temporary Air Repeater - June 5-6

Great info on the CAP aircraft... I'll have to watch FlightRadar24 tomorrow. I heard the exercise traffic on Incident 5 as you stated, but I also heard Battalion 33 (not sure which FD) contacting Highland Park dispatch on Lake Interop SE2 for a radio check... probably not exercise related...

    Antenna problem

Well 468 / 772 (center of your range) = 7.26 inches for a half-wave antenna. I like the half-wave as they don't require a ground plane like a quarter-wave does... for transmitting anyway.

    P25RX-II June sale.

Hmmm... love my P25RX-II... choices, choices... second P25RX-II or new clutch for my '66 Beetle with my state tax refund (finally!).

    Antenna problem

Try this... L=468 / F... where F is your target frequency (center of trunked system bandwidth). L is your (close enough) resonant antenna length in feet. Mine is 468 / 852.9375 MHz = 0.55 feet, or about 6.6 inches.

    Pro-197 settings

Yes, if the object's PL tone is set to 'search,' there will be a delay. To eliminate the delay, set the object's PL tone to either 'none' or the actual tone in use, if known.

Hot Springs Village PD soon to be on AWIN

Cool, good info to know! We're about 99% sure we want to move there this year since I retired in March after 40+ years in the Medical Device / Pharma industry. Planning a visit in a few weeks to scope out vacant lots and meet with a builder.
