Sounds like you answered your own question, knowing the SDS is better designed to handle simulcast systems. As to why the 996 would be better on one system compared to another, I’m sure your specific location is a factor.

What do you expect IPN to come up with as a workaround? It’s the cell phone companies that made the decision to discontinue email-to-SMS. Look into Pushover.net. It would require a separate app on your phone, but works well.

Thanks, will give it a shot. I did previously try creating a new profile from scratch in PPS, but I didn't factory reset the pager first. Can you clarify the second step you mention "download from pager"? If I factory reset the pager, wouldn't there really be nothing to download to PPS?

Understood, thanks. Do you know if that standard setting is able to be changed somewhere? I noticed that if I manually add a P25T talkgroup, then the default is Tone/Default Tone. When importing via RR, the Alert Modes are all set to None.

Does this recommendation apply to P25 trunking talkgroup also? It seems when importing a system from RR, the Alert mode for each TG is set to none by default. So that means you’d have to manually go through and set each TG?
